My Review of A Killer Among Us by Lynette Eason:
5 STARS
5 STARS
A Killer Among Us is exhilarating! The story is about 2 detectives, Noah and Kit who are new partners and find themselves working on a serial killer case. Not only are there people getting killed around them but it is evident that either Noah or Kit are getting hunted too! Trying to work with new a new partner is always a struggle especially when you find yourself attracted to that person as well.
Once you start reading A Killer Among Us, you'll have a hard time putting it down. There is a ton of action and suspense that had me guessing who the killer was the entire time. This book reminded me of watching the TV show "Criminal Minds" where you get to see inside the head of the killer as well as watching the detectives work the case. I enjoyed the tidbits of a glimpse in to the killers mind, he sure was psychotic.
The main characters were enjoyable; I was completely immersed in their lives right from the start. I really admired Noah; he was such a Godly man and always made an effort to remind Kit as well as others of God’s love.
The spiritual threads in here were perfect. There was a lot of action going on, but here and there was a mention of God's love and forgiveness. A Killer Among us reminded me that God never abandons us or forsakes us even when we turn our backs on him! Very inspirational!
The romance was sweet and desirable. I felt like the romance moved a little fast considering it all happened within a few weeks but I wouldn't change anything about it. Very clean and enjoyable! I am looking forward to reading more by Lynette Eason. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy Christian Suspense with a touch of romance, you will not be disappointed.
I received a copy of this book to read and review from the author. My review is not biased by the fact that I was given this book. I HONESTLY read and review any book whether bought or given to me. If I did not like the book I would definitely not give a rave review or recommend it.

Author Interview
Hello, Lynette Eason, and thank you so much for talking with me today! To begin, could you just tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a writer, a mom and a wife. Not necessarily in that order. LOL. But here’s my bio: Best-selling author, Lynette Eason has written/contracted nineteen novels, including Too Close to Home, which was #13 on CBA’s bestseller list for December 2010. Lynette writes for Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line and Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. Lynette is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). She and her husband and their two children make their home in South Carolina.
How long have you known that you wanted to be a writer? Did you receive a clear “calling” from God or have you always had a desire to write?
I loved to write even as a student in high school and college. I always preferred essay tests over the multiple choice ones. LOL. But really, I didn’t start writing seriously until about 11 years ago. I had this story in my head and decided to get it down on paper (in the computer) and did so.
I have never met anyone who preferred essay questions to multiple choice! LOL Who has inspired you the most?
Dee Henderson. She was my mentor for a long time when I didn’t even realize what she was doing. Poor woman. I just kept asking her question after writing question and she answered every one! She just kept telling me I was getting better and one day I’d be published. I decided I believed her and kept writing. J
What are 2 things that people wouldn’t normally know about you?
I hate the summer time and I’m not crazy about change in general.
You recently have had a book published, would you take this time to describe it to us? How and where can readers buy your book? (versions and locations)
A KILLER AMONG US is book 3 in the Women of Justice series. The back cover copy is:
What happens when the hunter . . . becomes the hunted?
Kit Kenyon is a first-rate hostage negotiator. Noah Lambert is a good detective with excellent instincts. These new partners have hardly had time to get used to each other when they are thrown into a grisly murder case. As evidence mounts up and more victims are found, Kit and Noah realize they are on the hunt for a serial killer. The problem is, he may be hunting one of them too.
With nail-biting suspense, clever plot twists, and a hint of romance, A Killer Among Us is the latest thriller from Lynette Eason.

Is there a spiritual message in your book? If so, what is it and what can readers expect to get from reading it?
Yes, the spiritual message is a woman on the run from dealing with her past and God. When she runs headlong into both, she must decide what she’s going to do about it. How is she going to deal with her past? Is she going to trust God and believe that things happen for a reason? Is she going to believe that God cares about her and her feelings like Noah keeps telling her? I want readers to realize that God is in control in spite of the evil in this world. And we need to let go of all the baggage we hold on to and let God take care of it in His way and His time. This is a lesson I have to learn over and over myself. Ha.
What’s your favorite part of the story?
Where Kit realizes that she doesn’t have to choose one family or the other and that she’s been blessed with two families who love her.
What was the hardest part to write?
The serial killer is always hard to write because I don’t understand that kind of twisted mind. I do a lot of praying through those scenes.
Do you have any other books in the making?
Oh yes. Always. Right now, I’m working on the Deadly Reunions series that starts in January 2012 with the first book called When the Smoke Clears.
Would you give us your blog or webpage so everyone can check it out? Anything else you’d like to share? (promotional information)

ReplyDeleteA friend of mine recommended Lynette's books to me several months ago, and I've just been dragging my feet on reading one! I loved your review of this one...reminds me a bit of Dee Henderson's and Irene Hannon's style of writing. :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd Lynette, you're not alone...I'm a fan of the winter, too. I do not like the summertime, especially because of all the hot weather we get in the South.
+1 I just became a follower. :o)
