About Angel Eyes:
Once you’ve seen, you can’t unsee. Everything changes when you’ve looked at the world through . . .

ANGEL EYES

Brielle’s a ballerina who went to the city to chase her dreams and found tragedy instead. She’s come home to shabby little Stratus, Oregon, to live with her grief and her guilt . . . and the incredible, numbing cold she can’t seem to shake.

Jake’s the new guy at school. The boy next door with burning hands and an unbelievable gift that targets him for corruption.

Something more than fate has brought them together. An evil bigger than both of them lurks in the shadows nearby, hiding in plain sight. Two angels stand guard, unsure what’s going to happen. And a beauty brighter than Jake or Brielle has ever seen is calling them to join the battle in a realm where all human choices start.

A realm that only angels and demons—and Brielle—can perceive.

My Review:
4 STARS

I’m always a bit skeptical when I read a Christian paranormal romance because I never seem to connect with the characters and usually find it more frustrating than satisfying.  Angel Eyes has broken through that stereotype and instead has peaked my interest with this new trilogy.

We begin with a bit of a confusing story and a girl who is very broken and upset.  After a tragedy she moves back home with her dad and begins to try to move on with a new life.  She meets Jake who is new to town and is instantly drawn to him.  She can’t quite put her finger on it but there is something different about him.

I really enjoyed this interesting take of Angels.  My only other real book experience with angels is the Hush Hush series that is not at all sweet and cute like this one.  I loved Hush Hush but I also really enjoyed this different take on angels in Angel Eyes.  The characters are really great and I felt a connection to Brielle and to Jake.

I thought the romance between them was sweet although I wish there was a bit more to it than what we got but overall it progressed pretty normal and they made a pretty cute couple.

My only complaint would have to be the beginning of the story.  You get this glimpse in to a broken girl that is dealing with a major loss and fear but yet they don’t tell us why she is like this for way too long.  I literally almost put the down within the first 50-100 pages because I was so frustrated not knowing why Brielle was so broken.  I think it really would have helped the story flow better if it was disclosed sooner.

I also really didn’t enjoy having Damien’s point of view in here.  It just didn’t flow well and was not very believable.  However, that or the fact that I was confused in the beginning did not sway me from connecting with the story and I just couldn’t put it down.

Overall I would say that is a great series if you can just get past the beginning.  The ending leaves you wanting for much more and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

Thank you to Litfuse for providing me a free copy of the book in exchange for my personal review.  All opinions are my own.
